I come from Grudziadz, a medium-sized industrial town in northern
Poland. Already as a child I somehow knew I would leave this place
and travel as often and as far away as possible. My interest in the
English language, a natural, healthy curiosity and the desire to discover
different cultures and their art finally took me to London, where
I came in contact with ethnic jewelry for the first time. It was love
at first sight…
As a 19 year old girl, however, I could not afford any of the jewels I dreamt of. It would take me another 6-7 years to become - at last - a proud owner of an old silver and coral necklace from Afghanistan (on the picture). At that time, I lived and worked in Brussels, Belgium.
But then I moved to a new country for the fourth time and settled in the beautiful surroundings of Basel, Switzerland. My third exotic holidays lead me to Rajasthan, India, the dreamland for all beauty and design lovers. It was in India that I realized I could turn my passion for ethnic jewelry into a profession. Soon after I began not only dealing in, but also designing and making my own original jewelry pieces.
The joy of creating
I travel via my jewelry. I travel in time and change cultures. I am
somebody else each time I put on a different creation… And when I
create I get in touch with myself and all my senses. I feel inner
peace and happiness. And this is what makes me tick.
